The purpose of the Tauranga Montessori Education Trust is to provide and promote education, inspired by the Montessori philosophy which nurtures the child’s human tendency to discover the world and their place in it.
The vision is that as students develop they will be able to recognise and realise their unique and potential, and ability contribute to society in a way that is meaningful, fulfilling and purposeful.
The Bellevue School Curriculum Document not only supports the teaching and learning of mainstream students but aligns with the teaching and learning of Montessori students using the Montessori Curriculum.
Montessori@Bellevue embraces the Bellevue values (being respectful, resilient, responsible and resourceful) and includes them in a manner that is aligned with Montessori philosophy.
Montessori@Bellevue shares many of the same beliefs about teaching and learning and effective pedagogy as stipulated in the Bellevue Curriculum Document i.e. personalised and inquiry learning.
Montessori students at Bellevue School enjoy full inclusion in all aspects of school life including access to school facilities such as the ICT tools, library, hall and sports areas. Students participate in school sports teams, cultural groups and school-wide events.
